Gateway Unlimited Living is Hiring a Community Support Specialist (ILS / IHS Worker) Near Burnsville, MN

Gateway Unlimited Living is a mental health service company, currently looking for an experienced individual to fill the position of Community Support Specialist, assisting individuals with employment support, independent living skills training, and providing in-home and community-based services to individuals in the Twin Cities south metro area (mileage is reimbursable).

The ideal candidate(s) must have obtained a High school diploma (required), a BA/BS, or at least an AA in a social science-related field preferred, but not required, in addition to demonstrating good background knowledge in social and person-centered services.

Hours: flexible

This position is available for full-time /part time hours. The Community Support Specialist is able to create their own schedule and is responsible for contacting clients to meet their hours each week.

Gateway Unlimited Living Provides the Following Services:

  • In-Home Family Supports
  • Individualized Home Supports (IHS)
  • Employment Services (ESS, EDS, EES)
  • 24-Hour Emergency Services
  • Positive Support by Professional (Previously Behavioral Support)

Required Job Responsibilities:

  • The ideal candidate must show a high level of independence in managing their own schedule.
  • Managing email every workday, remotely if needed
  • Keeping prompt communication with and contact with clients, staff, and support teams via email, phone, and occasionally text (per employee discretion).
  • Self-manage client and staff schedules ensuring all hour requirements are being met
  • Be on time for all scheduled visits, meetings, and appointments
  • Participate and write client 245D documents, support plans, etc.
  • Completing all necessary documentation to assure compliance with all state and federal regulations. These may include but are not limited to: daily datasheet and clinic notes, attendance logs, time records, incident reports, behavior reports, accident reports, etc.
  • Collaborate individual schedules with the individuals or legal representatives/guardians.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor or Executive Program Director.

Required Skills and Knowledge:

  • High School Diploma/GED required; Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences or a related field is preferred.
  • AA degree with up to 2 years in either ILS or employment support services accepted
  • Valid driver's license
  • Proof of proper vehicle insurance
  • Safe and reliable vehicle with the ability to transport clients, if needed
  • MUST pass Background Study and DHS Fingerprinting
  • Experience in areas of employment directly related to the performance of this job as included in the above job requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience using GSuite (Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Sheets)
  • OneDrive experience preferred. Training offered.
